Campaign against Crossrail in 2008 and the evaluation and assessment of the UK media in promoting the ‘case’ of Big Business craving even more £Billions from the ordinary UK population, I am taking a look at some of the persistent symbols of the ailment that afflicts the over-hyped ‘British media’.. Contrary to the hype and the marketing, the British media is as corrupt, as ignorant, and as undemocratic and anti-democracy as it ever was…It is because of these reasons that a community or a city or a population cannot rest assured of any assurance that any part of the mainstream British media may proffer about its being vigilant....... The community, the people must remain alert as much about the role of the position holders in the central state as much as in the local and the regional states… And the people must treat the media for what it is in Britain: an adjunct of the state and the power-holding minority that is allowed to carry on without having to submit to any democratic scrutiny [inside the elected chambers ands halls] or media accountability…….Crass is not far from corrupt. In fact, the two words and the concepts they denote are very similar. In the context of ‘Crossrail’, 'crass' and 'corrupt' are easily interchangeable.The Rupert Murdoch-ed London Times has over the past 14 months or so , published a number of my comments on the Times online web site.

He therefore fails to report any of the argument far less the advance justifying the action at Stanstead that the Plane Stupid campaigners took earlier today...The fact that Millward gives a detailed description of the ‘disruption’ to air travellers that the Plane Stupid action causes, he makes no mention of the harm that the campaigners are seeking to draw attention to. The harm to the environment to the health and to the economy.….which are caused by air traffic.……. the fact that Millward is described as ‘Transport Editor’ on the Daily Telegraph is quite worrying... Now they are abusing the environment and trying to paint the scam look as if they want the £Billions of public money for Crossrail IN ORDER TO SAVE THE BIRDS....! The question again is - do the birds in the Essex area [or anywhere else] deserve to be misrepresented by the immoral plotters set on looting the public of £Billions? The cost of the alleged 'environmental sanctuary' is a few £millions... NOT £Billions... But the plotters are parading it as if Crossrail is being done to save the birds at a cost of £Billions.....When will they stop lying? Clay, chalk, sand and gravel taken from the construction of Crossrail will be transferred by ship to Wallasea Island, which the RSPB will transform into 1,500 acres – nearly 2.5 square miles - of tidal wildlife habitat. The agreement links Europe’s largest construction project with the continent’s biggest coastal habitat creation scheme. The project, to help replace wildlife sites damaged by climate change, was announced a year ago but depended on raising at least £12 million. Plans have altered since and costs have risen. .....Graham Wynne, Chief Executive of the RSPB, said: “This is an fantastic agreement that one year ago, we could never have imagined. Wallasea will be the RSPB’s most ambitious and innovative habitat recreation scheme. This is a ground-breaking deal between one of the UK’s leading enterprises and an environmental charity. The 73-mile rail link from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west, to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, will be Europe’s largest civil engineering project. Crossrail will include works on the existing railway network together with a central underground section from Paddington to Woolwich and Stratford. The RSPB will next week submit a planning application to Essex County Council to transform Wallasea Island with Crossrail material. Public consultation will start in December and Essex County Council is expected to reach a decision in the spring.

It is the sort of language that Ken Livingstone used and the language that Boris Johnson has begun to use in peddling the idiotic 'benefits' of Crossrail.... ":Crossrail: Crossrail has recently got the go-head - a White Paper is planned to be submitted in March 2005 for Government consideration with regarding to financing. It seems about 80% certain now that the rail link will be built - even if the London Olympic bid fails to secure the games. This part of London, on a visit last week - is undergoing quite some re-generation. It is in acute deficit... Dollops of cash injections by the corrupting regimes typified by the likes of the LDA have made no difference to the quality of service by the corporate bureaucratic local Tower Hamlets Council.....Although some newcomers, as ‘party political’ experimenters appearing - in all three, primary, senses of that word including PRETENDING - on the ‘local’s scene, are quite adept at stealing the community’s rights as well s some of our very own words and phrases - like ‘degeneration’ to mean the Council's ‘regeneration’ , without so much as acknowledging the true source or locus of the analysis, they are not making any impact on the electors. Not in the way that they would ‘prefer’ to pretend! They are clueless, as far as the voters and what the voters are bothered by... The Lost Listers have shown contempt to the people in the borough over the past few years... How? By presumptuous parades of parasitical opportunism, little, petty, pocket-careerism.... All at the expense of the people in the Ward. In the borough.... They do not belong with the battling people on the estates. Or with the people engaged in the struggle to keep their little spaces, hold to their little spaces where the ‘local’ corrupt Council is engaged in selling out to Big Business...........All across Tower Hamlets, the signs are writ large and clear: the Tories are poised for take over a big chunk of this borough... or of what remains of the former Tower Hamlets...... In all senses of that phrase....
