Monday's belated bid by UK Transport fronter Ruth Kelly reinforces the view that as with London Crossrail they are wrong on Manchester's transport needs

Gordon Brown is wrong to have made the statement in late September 2007 and early October 2007] that he will make £Billions of public money available to Crossrail in London. That scheme is a big Business scam. That scam is wasteful, irrelevant and obsolete. Because of that, even Gordon Brown's own 'expert', ex head of British Airways Rod Eddington, had refused to recommend or to to endorse Crossrail....

And as Brown, his fronter on transport in his cabinet, Ruth Kelly is guilty of incomplete [if any] thought. This has become clear in the response from several MPs, from Brown's Blaired side in the UK House of Commons, who have spoken of their unease at Kelly';s announcement of a C-Charge in Manchester....
